Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance or property management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electrical repair and maintenance work.
  • Proficiency in plumbing repair, maintenance, and fixture installation.
  • Carpentry skills in both framing and finish work, including drywall repair
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Experience operating corded and battery-powered hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic campus environment.
  • Union membership is not required at the time of hire; however, the selected candidate must join the union within 90 days of their start date as a condition of continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (hourly wage incentive available).
  • Refrigerant handling certification (hourly wage incentive available).
  • Experience with minor appliance repair and troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Knowledge of event setup and logistics support.
  • Snow removal equipment operation experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure safe and reliable building systems.
  • Complete plumbing repairs, maintenance, and fixture installations throughout campus facilities.
  • Execute carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, and drywall repairs to maintain building integrity.
  • Conduct minor appliance repairs and coordinate tenant change of occupancy preparations.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown to support campus activities and functions.
  • Provide snow removal services during winter months to maintain safe campus access.
  • Support moving services and other facility needs using corded and battery-powered hand tools.
