About The Position

Home2 Suites by Hilton Charleston/Mt. Pleasant is seeking a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Evening Maintenance / Houseperson to help maintain a clean, welcoming, safe, and comfortable hotel environment while supporting evening operations. The role includes basic maintenance, preventive maintenance, property upkeep, and responding to maintenance emergencies. The position requires little to no travel outside the property and surrounding area. The property is managed by OTO Development.

Requirements

Have FSD Certification or be capable of completing company-sponsored certification requirements within the first 6–8 months of employment.
Be able to take a company-sponsored Pool Operator class and pass the accompanying exam.
Currently work as a Building Maintenance Technician I for at least one year, or have at least 1–2 years of experience in a related field.
Possess general knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures.
Work well with others in a guest- and team-focused environment.
Have strong time-management skills and complete quality, detailed work within established parameters.
Have customer service skills, anticipate guest needs, greet and acknowledge guests, and respond to guest requests to ensure satisfaction.
Demonstrate action orientation and the ability to deliver the desired outcome.
Be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Wear the provided brand-standard uniform, identification, required footwear, and protective equipment.
Follow safety and security guidelines for equipment, guests, and chemical handling.
Change HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Ensure fire and life safety systems are functioning and operational.
Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance duties.
Inspect and clean rooms after working in them, ensuring they meet company standards.
Pick up trash throughout the property.
Ensure maintenance equipment is functioning properly and maintained.
Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies.
Paint walls, ceilings, doors, and window trim as needed.
Clean guest laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and common areas twice daily.
Take ownership of evening maintenance and property upkeep, noticing needed work and taking initiative.
Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests and support a positive guest experience.
