The Building Maintenance Supervisor works in the General Services Division of the Public Works Department. The General Services Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all City-owned buildings, SATCOM and the Presidio of Monterey. The division is also responsible for building upgrades and energy saving projects as well as custodial services for all City-owned property. Under direction, to supervise the maintenance, repair, construction and remodeling of buildings and facilities, including rental units and contractual work. Provides extensive, direct crew-level oversight, including planning, coordinating and tracking costs, personnel and work output. Assist in the preparation of budget; and to do related work as required. This is the first working supervisory-level class in the building maintenance series. Incumbents are responsible for directly planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing and evaluating the work of building maintenance staff. The incumbents are expected to independently perform the full range of building maintenance duties.
