About The Position

Assists in the monitoring of preventive maintenance work, the inspection and repair of building equipment and apparatus, and the inspection of service/repair/renovation/construction contracts and agreements. Coordinates building, equipment and infrastructure maintenance and repairs to maintain the integrity of all related systems and structural components of the MARTA Headquarters/Annex/IOC Complexes. Installs and maintains interior signage, doors and associated parts, lighting, plumbing and other internal facility systems. Provides inspection of contractors' work to ensure compliance to contract documents and service agreements. Monitors operation of the building systems and equipment and provides reports of system efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma and two years formal technical training in a mechanical/electrical discipline or an associate degree in these disciplines.
• One year of experience in providing building maintenance work to include knowledge of; and demonstrated ability in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Must also be knowledgeable of carpentry, masonry, and HVAC chillers (minimum 100 tons).
• Must be able to read architectural engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications are required.
• Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License.
• In lieu of formal training or degree; directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

• Knowledge of contracts and administration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the operating efficiency of building systems. Acts as point of contact for contractors who maintain boilers, water chillers, heaters, circulating pumps, water heaters, induction units, auxiliaries and other equipment in the MARTA Headquarters/Annex/IOC Complexes. Checks mechanical/electrical equipment controls, gauges, distribution panels, valves and other components to assure continuous elevator, heat, hot water, air conditioning, fire protection and electrical services.
• Inspects buildings and equipment to verify preventive maintenance performance. Inspects MARTA Headquarters/Annex/IOC Complexes equipment, reports condition and notes malfunctioning equipment. Provides inspection service for contracts administered by the branch.
• Assists in the coordination of service agreements/contracts and maintenance programs that require manpower effort. Assists in monitoring contract personnel performing preventive maintenance, construction, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.
• Repairs building systems and equipment as needed, including but not limited to: lighting, plumbing, doors and locks, ceilings and other internal facility systems. Acts as liaison for the Building Maintenance Branch to coordinate service, repair, renovation, and construction activity.
• Assists in conducting tours with the Authority's insurance provider, Fire Inspector, Safety Officers and other annual required tours.
• Assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies, maintenance equipment, tools and repair parts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
