About The Position

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Station Supervisor, Building Maintenance Employees work in a team to make sure that our venues maintain a level of cleanliness through clearing garbage bins, and making sure that relevant cans are recycled in the appropriate fashion. This role is essential to ensure cleanliness along with meeting organizational sustainability objectives. You must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Requirements

• Works well in teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Will be able to complete demanding physical tasks such as being able to bend, stand for long periods of time, maneuver stairs, along with lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
• Be 18 years of age or older by June 2026
• Be legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada
• Have a Social Insurance Number
• Have a bank account in their own name
• Must successfully participate in a criminal background check
• Be available to work for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede
• Complete and comply with all required training and policies

Responsibilities

• Emptying and changing bags in recycling bins and garbage bins.
• Ensuring garbage and non-refundable recycling items are put into the appropriate disposal bins.
• Sorting refundable recycling, to prepare it for pick up from the bottle depot.
• Dispose of unsafe material in a safe manner. i.e. Broken glass.
• Maintain appearance and cleanliness within the venue and workspace.
• Adhering to all safety and environmental programs and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Our venue includes exposure to animal dander, various weather conditions, loud music, and food allergens.
