About The Position

This position performs duties in support of the maintenance of university buildings and facilities. The work consists of related building maintenance duties. The variety of tasks to be performed contributes to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to assist in building repair and maintenance duties. Success in this position results in safe and well-maintained buildings.

Requirements

Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Skill in diagnostic troubleshooting.
Skill in the operation of job-related tools, vehicles and equipment.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Must provide an original social security card during the hiring process.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Assists in the maintenance and repair of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Conveyance, and Life Safety systems associated with University buildings and other facilities.
Assists in the repair and maintenance of Building exteriors and interiors, including, but not limited to, roofs, windows, doors and flooring.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Assists other personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintains assigned tools and equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
