About The Position

This position reports to the Maintenance Mechanic 4 for the Camp Murray Region of the State Maintenance and Support Services (SMSS) Branch of the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO) and is responsible for performing multi-skilled, sub-journey level work required to accomplish all phases of building maintenance and construction work. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, and/or building repair work.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of: Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in building and maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of: Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building trades.
  • Skills, abilities and competencies to: Read plans and blueprints
  • Skills, abilities and competencies to: Consult with supervisors and make recommendations about repairs/remodeling work needed.
  • Skills, abilities and competencies to: Track, monitor, and log equipment, supplies, and work orders to maintain required maintenance and expense records.

Responsibilities

  • Sub-journey level work in the completion of assigned preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, and non-repair efforts.
  • Preventative maintenance assignments for mechanical, structural, and electrical components and systems HVAC, plumbing, emergency egress, and other infrastructure items.
  • Maintenance and repair efforts via work orders, as assigned.
  • Perform sub-journey maintenance and/or repair efforts.
  • Perform all phases and types of semi-skilled maintenance and repair efforts.
  • Sub-journey level work may include mechanical, carpentry, painting, flooring, etc.
  • Assists grounds and custodial crews, as assigned.
  • Perform grounds efforts (mowing, edging, and pruning, etc.).
  • Perform custodial efforts (trash removal and cleaning).
  • Perform snow removal and/or debris removal.
