About The Position

BRT Extrusions is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Mechanic for its Niles, Ohio plant. The Building Maintenance crew works as a team to support 24/7 facility operations and maintains, repairs, and adds to the existing 400,000-square-foot facility. Shifts are described as 8-hour shifts, with the role also requiring willingness to work 8- or 12-hour shifts on a varying schedule. The position performs general building maintenance work, including construction, drywall, basic electrical and plumbing repairs, roofing repairs, sheet metal work, welding, pipe fitting, and forklift operation to move materials for projects. The listed duties are general and do not cover all possible duties.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience performing maintenance repairs; manufacturing-environment experience is preferred.
Willingness to work 8- or 12-hour shifts on a varying schedule.
Organizational skills to manage building maintenance priorities.
Use required personal protective equipment and follow all safety policies and protocols.
Forklift driving experience.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with supervisors and employees.
Experience with most maintenance-related hand and power tools.
Better-than-average math skills.
Maintain good attendance and follow all company policies.
Willingness to participate in required job- and employment-related training, including safety, technical, role-specific, and tool-specific training.

Maintenance repair experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Frame and finish construction projects.
Hang and finish drywall.
Identify and fix basic electrical issues.
Make basic plumbing repairs.
Make roofing repairs.
Perform sheet metal work.
Perform welding and pipe fitting.
Drive a forklift and transport materials for specific projects as needed.
Work with the Building Maintenance crew to manage the upkeep, repairs, and additions to the facility.
