About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance and most routine maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained in proper working conditions using safe work habits. These areas will include general maintenance to buildings, grounds, machinery, racking, etc. Depending on the skill requirements, this position may be responsible for more complex issues and repairs.

Requirements

  • Experience using general carpentry tools: saws, sanders, drills, and tape measures.
  • Basic carpentry and painting skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility and production equipment.
  • Ability to understand equipment specifications and perform preventive maintenance actions.
  • Ability to utilize forklift equipment and work at heights up to 35 feet.
  • Good communication skills to read and understand work orders, prints, drawings, MSDS, manuals, and parts requests.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with personnel regarding safety issues and repair needs.
  • Ability to identify and repair electrical issues, following NFPA standards and using correct PPE.
  • Ability to perform routine and corrective maintenance.
  • Willingness and ability to learn the eMaint work order system.
  • Must be able to work in varying environments including tight spaces, extreme heat and cold, under and in equipment, on a ladder and other awkward/uncomfortable areas.
  • Must be able to work at heights in all conditions.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift over 50 pounds.
  • Must be a flexible self-starter able to handle and prioritize multiple requests for repair work and be able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with eMaint work order system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine maintenance on buildings, grounds, machinery, and racking.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility and production equipment using analytical techniques.
  • Understand equipment specifications, inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Utilize forklift equipment and assist others to perform duties at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • Identify and repair electrical issues on equipment and in the facility, following NFPA standards and using correct PPE.
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance using the eMaint work order system to create and complete work orders, accurately documenting all work performed, labor, and parts used.
  • Attend daily start-up meetings to discuss daily tasks and voice any issues or concerns.
