About The Position

The purpose of this position is to oversee the upkeep of City buildings and machinery. This is primarily accomplished by making repairs, obtaining materials and parts, and pricing equipment to be used for maintenance. An offer of employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a fingerprint screening. If the incumbent fails to obtain clearance through the fingerprint screening, they will not be able to access all necessary City buildings and therefore, may be subject to termination.

Requirements

• HVAC principles and practices
• Applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certificate
• Applicants must meet the City's criteria for an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs HVAC equipment in City facilities.
• Inspects and installs parts and/or materials on HVAC fixtures and/or machinery.
• Meets and oversees contractors for HVAC maintenance of City buildings and facilities.
• Inventories and orders materials and parts.
• Maintains reports and daily logs of work progress.
• Rotational on-call responsibilities.
• Performs other similar duties as required.
