About The Position

To assist with maintenance and repair for WSI facilities in support of providing the best guest experience. The Maintenance office is located in the Wood Shop, located adjacent to the Maple parking lot. Parts of the workspace are located on the ground floor, while offices, restrooms, and parts storerooms are located on the second floor and accessed via stairway.

Requirements

  • Two or more years’ experience in numerous aspects of facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and preparation, carpentry and furniture repair, drywall repair, hot tub maintenance, and signage fabrication
  • Familiarity with (or ability to be trained to use) a large format lamination machine, specifically a GFP (Global Finishing Partners) cold lamination machine
  • Familiarity with (or ability to be trained to use) print materials, backing boards, and their appropriate applications and durability
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be added to WSI insurance policy
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of people and remain calm and professional in handling a variety of tasks and stressful situations
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be able to take instructions from a supervisor or senior co-worker to safely and effectively execute assigned tasks
  • Must be able to always provide every guest with a high level of customer service
  • Must be able to work within the framework of the company and department policies and procedures as set forth in the employee manuals
  • Must be a solution-oriented, outside-the-box thinker

Responsibilities

  • Follows maintenance schedule for routine work
  • Accurately and completely fill out purchase requisitions for material purchases
  • Utilize Streamline maintenance software to record work orders and complete maintenance logs
  • Complete accurate timecards using the ADP time management system
  • Complete weekly vehicle inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper performance of assigned vehicle
  • Communicate directly with the Marketing Creative Manager for sign sizing, placement, and material selection
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills—keeping track of large quantities of signs and where they need to go—in addition to keeping seasonal signage organized
  • Install and mount signage
  • Perform sign maintenance, including hanging and removing signs from indoor and outdoor locations
  • Coordinate with Administrative Assistant for ordering sign materials
  • Perform hand excavation with shovels, rock bars, and post hole diggers for signpost placement
  • Cut, measure, and fasten members for wood sign frame construction
  • Keep job site and/or shop safe, orderly, and clean
  • Operate the necessary hand, electric, gas, and air tools needed to complete the specified task (i.e., drills and saws)
  • Perform demolition work as situations dictate
  • Lay concrete paver blocks for walkways or replace damaged pavers
  • Empty trash from outside trash cans and haul to trash compactor
  • Shovel snow from walkways and roofs with hand shovels and snowblowers
  • Thoroughly mask all surfaces and objects not to be painted
  • Prepare interior and exterior surfaces with scrapers, sanders, power washers, and by filling holes and cracks using proper products and equipment for the situation
  • Apply prime and finish products with hand and power equipment (airless sprayer, HVLP sprayer, brushes, and rollers, for example)
  • Maintain signposts, light posts, and all sign frames
  • Clean and maintain all hand and power tools as specified in the building maintenance manual
  • Clean coils in refrigeration equipment
  • Record monthly filter changes and coil cleaning on building maintenance logs
  • Replace burned-out light bulbs with the proper bulbs
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting with the use of a multimeter
  • Operate fuel dispensing system to dispense fuel in WSI vehicles and approved containers
  • Keep maintenance vehicles clean and fluid levels checked on a daily basis
  • Ability to safely operate WSI vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
  • Operate fire extinguisher to put out fires in an emergency
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Be trained in the HAZCOM and LOCKOUT/TAGOUT safety programs
  • Report any unsafe or potentially unsafe working conditions to the supervisor or the safety concern notebook located next to the woodshop work area order board
  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards
  • Collect recyclable cardboard from base facilities
  • Hang and remove Christmas lights, wreaths, and fir roping on buildings
  • Empty trash cans in the maintenance shop and sweep floors
  • Operate vacuum cleaners and hot water carpet extraction equipment; maintain this equipment for proper operation
  • Perform furniture and appliance moving and installation as needed
