About The Position

HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will monitor, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on the components of the central utilities plant, including but not limited to, steam/heating/domestic hot water boilers; generators; heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment; and incinerator (as applicable). Assists with work on other building systems and components. Assists the affiliate's with compliance of the environment of care management plans Will consider different levels based on experience: Maintenance Mechanic I $22.05 - $27.57 - $33.08 Maintenance mechanic II $23.15 - $28.94 - $34.73

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training is required
  • Two years plant maintenance required
  • Valid state driver’s license and must be insurable to operate hospital vehicles is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years stationary engineer experience preferred.
  • Power Plant Operating Engineer – Second Class License is recommended
  • Illinois: For positions covered under collective bargaining agreement, completion of hospital approved training program and minimum of four years at the Mechanic I level will be considered in lieu of license/certification.
