About The Position

Healthcare Realty Trust is recruiting for an experienced on-site Maintenance Engineer for medical office buildings in Mission Viejo, CA. This role involves performing assigned repairs, building upkeep duties, and emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner. The position requires thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches, and life safety systems. The engineer will also be responsible for completing maintenance and repair records and assigned work orders. Basic skills with Microsoft Office are required, and the use of a personal computer and smartphone for work order systems and email is necessary. The role demands excellent organization, verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to read blueprints. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, is flexible, focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression, and is self-sufficient yet a team player.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure or trade certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned repairs.
  • Completes building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed).
  • Performs emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email.
  • Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression.
  • Is self-sufficient and a team player.
  • Is on-call approximately every five weeks.
  • Travels to buildings within 25 miles of the metropolitan area.
