The YWCA of Western MA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering survivors. The YW provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Our programs and services include crisis shelter and transitional housing for survivors and their families, counseling, SAFEPLAN court advocacy, community education, supervised visitation, and vocational training for youth. The YWCA provides services at our primary campus in Springfield and Holyoke location. Position Purpose The Building & Maintenance Custodian performs custodial and maintenance duties necessary for YWCA functioning, safety, and orderly condition. These duties include general building repairs, grounds, snow removal, vehicle, and equipment maintenance, as well as general cleaning. The Building & Maintenance Custodian will be assigned to work in both YWCA locations including Springfield and Holyoke. Additional Expectations of Position In the performance of essential and general job responsibilities, the Building & Maintenance Custodian is expected to: Restrict use of YWCA vehicles and equipment to normal business hours. Return YWCA vehicles and equipment to the Springfield location at the end of the work day. Communicate regularly with the Director regarding the status of recurring tasks. Provide emergency on-call assistance after business hours, using the YWCA-issued mobile phone, in response to weather or other unforeseen events. Provide emergency on-call assistance after business hours when the Director of Facilities is unavailable.
