About The Position

Under limited supervision, perform skilled work involving the operation, maintenance, repair, alteration, and additions to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, building furnishings, and site improvements. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and operating various types of HVAC-related equipment, emergency generators, and general building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in accordance with industry standards and codes. Additionally, the role includes general building maintenance and repair related to drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, windows, and other related items. The technician will monitor and communicate effectively with others, including contractors, engaged in maintenance, construction, and operation activities, ensuring compliance with company safety, security, environmental, and conduct rules. Housekeeping duties, furniture assembly/repair, snow removal, storm cleanup, lawn maintenance, spill cleanup, and inventory management are also part of the responsibilities. Procuring necessary parts and materials economically and maintaining records and submitting reports are also required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Building Maintenance Technician B or at least three (3) years equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
This job requires "recommended" test results from HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout.
Must be willing to pursue the certification (Electrician or HVAC license or CFC refrigerant certification).
Must be willing to pursue the licenses (City of Tulsa 1st Class Engineer licenses).
Overtime required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Scheduled as well as unscheduled, weekend and evening shift work may be required.
Will be expected to respond to emergency call out work.
Requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
Possess excellent verbal, written, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
Ability to read, interpret, review, revise, and correct blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications and instructions related to the assigned work.
Requires the ability to utilize a computer.
Constant standing; frequent walking; occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, squatting, kneeling.
This position requires lifting, moving and carrying equipment up to and in excess of 50 lbs.
Successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate within 30 mins of the Athens Ofc & Service Center (9135 St. Rt. 682 Athens, Ohio 45701) OR the Pomeroy Service Center (38831 State Route 7 Pomeroy, Ohio 45772)

Electrician or HVAC license or CFC refrigerant certification preferred.
PSO Building Maint Techs: City of Tulsa 1st Class Engineer licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract terms and conditions and in accordance with company safety, security, environmental and conduct rules.
Perform general housekeeping duties as required, such as, assemble, move, repair, hang and adjust furniture, wall hangings, doors, windows and other office items, assist in snow removal, storm damage cleanup, lawn maintenance, spill cleanup, inventory management.
Procure necessary quality parts and material in the most economical and accepted manner.
Maintain records, including inspection documentation, and submit reports as required.
