Building/Linen Attendant-Courier
About The Position
This full-time position involves traveling a scheduled daily route to pick up or deliver mail, supplies, and Lab specimens to hospital facilities. The role requires ensuring all documents are handled safely and vehicles are secure. Responsibilities include maintaining sanitary and attractive surroundings, providing excellent customer service, and complying with hospital safety guidelines, OSHA, and MDS guidelines/practices. The attendant is also responsible for maintaining linen levels and transporting linen throughout the facility, working in all areas of the facility and clinics as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous janitor and/or industrial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in hospital linen management is desirable.
Responsibilities
- All EVS staff must cross train in all areas of the organization and for all shifts.
- Removal and disposal of trash and waste product, inclusive of bio-hazardous materials.
- Clean patient rooms, restrooms, offices and hospital common areas within established departmental standards, inclusive of off-site locations.
- Maintain floors, strip wax floors; shampoo carpets according to scheduled maintenance standards.
- Maintain walkways to ensure safe access.
- Respond to visitor, patient and staff requests for assistance.
- Pick up and deliver of mail and materials in allotted time frame.
- Operation and preventive maintenance of hospital vehicle.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA and SDS practices.
- Perform visual inspections of facility and note gauge readings in log.
- Keep designated scheduled time frame.
- High focus on customer and patient satisfaction.
- Work as part of a team towards accomplishing departmental goals.
- Provide transportation of materials to various off-site locations. (Courier Services)
- Follows proper safety measure protocol when transporting clean linen to unit.
- Follows proper safety measure protocol when filling linen closets.
- Transports incoming clean linens to storage area.
- Transports dirty linen to proper storage area.
- Delivers extra linen as needed to units.
- Other duties as assigned.
