About The Position

Arbors Management Inc. has an opening for a full-time Building Inspector. This person will work with our Scattered Site Housing Team to manage the inspections of homes and apartments throughout the Pittsburgh and surrounding area. The goal of this position is to quickly identify unit and property deficiencies and to come up with cost effective repair solutions. Knowledge of housing codes in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington and Butler counties is preferred. The Building Inspector is a Full-Time, Daylight Hour position.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years working in a Building Inspection or Construction Management position
Must be proficient with computers and mobile devices
Must have valid drivers license, personal vehicle and current insurance
Professional attitude and appearance
Excellent communication skills
Must pass pre-employment criminal and drug screening

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of housing codes in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington and Butler counties is preferred.

Responsibilities

Interim Inspections - Inspecting an occupied unit making note of any maintenance or capital repair deficiencies, housekeeping issues or other management related issues
Construction & Draw Inspections - Inspecting on-going construction progress to verify work is being satisfactorily completed so payment can be released
Move In / Out Inspections - As needed to assist with the inspection of recently vacated units or to confirm a unit is ready for move-in
Coordinate with our Portfolios Managers and Leasing Specialists to ensure the team knows when work or inspections are completed
Share findings of inspections with property owners to explain any major repair items that are being suggested
