Building Inspector I, II or III

Cache County Corp.Logan, UT
$28 - $38Onsite

About The Position

We’re hiring a Building Inspector (I, II, or III) to keep residential construction in Cache County aligned with the IRC and local building codes—and to help projects move forward with fewer surprises. This is a full-time, benefitted, onsite role in Logan, UT (Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). Key responsibilities include residential inspections of homes, additions, and sheds/outbuildings; confirming zoning/site items, such as setbacks; reviewing plan sets and documenting clear code corrections; and supporting the county permit process from intake through issuance using permit software. As a Building Inspector, your day usually starts by checking your inspection schedule and permit notes in the system, then heading out to active job sites across the county. You’ll balance time in the field with time back at the office to write up findings, answer contractor and homeowner questions, and keep permits moving in a steady, government-paced workflow. Some days are straightforward; others involve tough conversations when something doesn’t meet code, and you’ll need to stay calm, clear, and consistent. You’ll also coordinate with planning and other reviewers as projects shift from plan review to construction.
