About The Position

Inspects residential buildings and plans for compliance with the County building, mechanical, and zoning codes.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or successful completion of the equivalent GED.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
  • Must possess the following Oregon Certificates: Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC), Residential Inspector Certification (CAS), Residential Plans Examiner Certification (CAX), Residential Plumbing Inspector (CAP) and A Level Structural Inspector (SIA) at time of hire.
  • Must have the ability to obtain A Level Plans Examiner (PEA) Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Possession of valid Oregon driver's license at time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to those who also possess State of Oregon Certificates for, A Level Electrical Inspector, A level Mechanical Inspector (MIA) or A Level Plumbing Inspector.
