About The Position

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is seeking a Building/Grounds Specialist II to perform custodial duties and ensure assigned facilities areas remain in a state of cleanliness consistent with agency standards. This role involves operating equipment, coordinating custodial tasks, re-stocking supplies, performing light maintenance and repairs, and supervising outside vendors. The position contributes to maintaining a safe and secure working environment for SLED employees.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Three (3) years of professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and/or construction.
Skills and ability to operate custodial equipment and practice good housekeeping procedures.
Ability to manage inventory of custodial supplies including paper products and cleaning supplies.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with agency personnel in a positive and productive manner.
Must be able lift items up to 50 pounds (lbs).

Responsibilities

Perform custodial duties to maintain SLED facilities to ensure that employees have a safe and secure working environment.
Ensure re-stocking of supplies in all SLED facilities.
Ensure all custodial equipment is operating correctly and notify supervisor of any deficiencies and/or any required corrective action or repairs.
Perform light maintenance/repairs as needed.
Supervise outside vendors at SLED facilities and when in security sensitive areas, as required.
Ensure that all required safety/preventative maintenance activities are performed properly and in a timely manner.
