About The Position

This position assists in the supervision and coordination of work within the Facilities Management unit to meet the needs of the university, its employees, and visitors. The role ensures buildings are maintained by touring common areas, identifying needed repairs, and communicating with building managers and department administrators. It involves coordinating and/or performing scheduled services, administering preventive maintenance programs, inspecting facilities for repair or replacement needs, and performing emergency and routine maintenance on campus facilities. The position also schedules logistics and secures resources for project completion, and implements unit operational policies and procedures, providing training and feedback for safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in construction management, facilities maintenance or related field or successful completion of a trade program related to construction or Facilities maintenance or 10+ years of relevant work experience in construction or facilities maintenance
  • 5+ years of work experience in construction or facilities maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision and the coordination of work within the unit to meet the needs of the university, its employees, and visitors
  • Ensures buildings are maintained by touring the common areas/public spaces, tracking and identifying needed repairs, and communicating with building managers and department administrators
  • Coordinates and/or performs scheduled services within an area of responsibility, administering preventive maintenance programs for facilities, inspecting facilities to determine repair or replacement needs, and performing emergency and routine maintenance on campus facilities
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for the completion of established projects
  • Implements unit operational policies and procedures, and provides training and feedback to ensure safety and compliance
  • Develops and schedules unit operational work plans
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Communicates unit goals and objectives, implements unit operational policies and procedures, and provides training and feedback to ensure safety and compliance
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for the completion of established projects
