About The Position

Building Futures Southwestern Ohio is a new 12-week pre-apprenticeship program that provides participants with the skills and trade-specific instruction to enter an apprenticeship and pursue a career in the construction industry, launching at Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. The program lays the foundation for a career in the building and construction trades. Building Futures graduates are encouraged to pursue one of the trades affiliated with the Cincinnati Building and Construction Trades Council. Once accepted into an apprenticeship, participants complete on-the-job training and classroom education and enjoy competitive wages and benefits, including medical insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits. Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Coordinator. The ideal candidate will possess excellent case management skills, demonstrable commitment to client success, awareness of supportive services and community resources, experience in barrier removal, group facilitation skills, and strong written and verbal communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in program coordination, preferably in workforce development or apprenticeship programs.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in barrier removal strategies, including assessing and utilizing supportive services and community resources.
  • Display a high level of professionalism and impeccable integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work early evenings / flexible schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with participants and effectively collaborate with community partners.
  • Strong facilitation with the ability to lead discussions, trainings, and collaborative sessions effectively.
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough intake assessments, develop individualized service plans, and provide ongoing comprehensive case management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, maintaining accurate physical and electronic participant records.
  • Familiarity with data management systems.
  • An empathetic and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of quality.

  • Valid Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with barrier removal assistance, including transportation, childcare, and housing support, to ensure participants’ full participation and completion of the program.
  • Collaborate with community resources and partner agencies to coordinate and refer participants to appropriate supportive services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and electronic participant files, ensuring all required documentation, progress notes, and data are properly recorded in Vesta.
  • Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing case management to address any emerging challenges or barriers.
  • Meet with assigned participants weekly for one-to-one case management appointments.
  • Document appointments in case notes. Case notes are to be placed in participant files and uploaded in Vesta.
  • Collaborate with program staff to facilitate effective program delivery, including organizing and participating in workshops, training sessions, and career development activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance case management skills and stay updated on relevant resources and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards following program guidelines and regulations.
  • Manage stipends and supportive services.
  • Responsible for managing the program’s application process by screening applicants, scheduling interviews and assessments, and sending timely reminders.
  • Coordinate and assist in the execution of program-specific special events, including post-event clean-up.
  • Maintain and coordinate the purchase of office supplies and program-specific needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
