About The Position

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations and the performance of areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. The role is part of Engineering and Technical Services and provides support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The position applies in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to complex assignments, provides innovative solutions, and shares knowledge with colleagues. It can affect customer, operational, project, and service activities across the team and related teams. The engineer works within broad guidelines and policies, explains difficult or sensitive information, and models behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma, with 4–5 years of job-related experience; a combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a diploma.
Certifications or licenses required by local or state jurisdictions, as applicable.
Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting or carrying loads of 50 pounds or more.
Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Sophisticated math skills, including the ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Universal CFC certification.
Prior shift management or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program so building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed.
Follow departmental policies for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of the job discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; build consensus and convince others to reach agreement.
Impact customer, operational, project, or service activities within the team and related teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies, and explain difficult or sensitive information.
