About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems and equipment. This includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. The Building Engineer I will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all building systems, respond to maintenance requests, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure a comfortable and safe environment for students and staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Vocational or technical school training in a related field.
Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

Perform routine and emergency repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Conduct preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems according to schedule.
Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with building systems and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes.
Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems.
Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment.
Perform general building maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping as needed.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
