About The Position
Responsible for custodial services in all city buildings, including City Hall, Police, Library, Port, Port Maintenance, Public Works, Public Works Operations and Airport Terminal. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, maintaining floors and carpeting, cleaning fixtures and blinds, dusting public areas, and emptying trash. The custodian is also responsible for maintaining cleaning equipment and reporting necessary repairs. The position requires independent judgment for scheduling and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- At least two years experience with janitorial work.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Applicant is subject to background investigation check.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Valid Drivers license required.
- Confidentiality absolutely necessary.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, refill paper and soap dispensers.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, shampoo, and spot clean carpeting and floors as required by schedule.
- Clean light fixtures and blinds.
- Dust all public areas.
- Empty trash from receptacles and remove to dumpsters.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and notify supervisor of necessary repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- $400 monthly car allowance in addition to hourly rate
