About The Position
NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a Multi-Licensed Building Code Inspector (MEP) based from our Tallahassee, FL location. Primary duties will include performing building code inspections and/or plans review on residential and commercial buildings, as well as managing specific projects related to these types of code inspections. Some travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area. The inspector positions are predominately field located but may occasionally include office assignments.
Requirements
- Required state of Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in two or more of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical disciplines.
- 3+ years’ experience performing plan review and/or inspections.
Nice To Haves
- Additional certifications are a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Performing building code inspections and/or plans review on residential and commercial buildings.
- Managing specific projects related to code inspections.
- Performing building code review and/or quality control inspections (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing).
- Preparing written and electronic reports, and issuing notices of correction.
- Explaining and interpreting code and/or quality control regulations or requirements.
- Recognizing, evaluating and properly resolving unique problems or situations.
- Maintaining effective customer service relationships with clients and the public.
- Assisting the inspection management team with business development.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
