About The Position

The Natick Public Schools seek a Building Based Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional for the period of 8/26/26 to 2/9/27. Natick Public Schools serves approximately 5,300 students from Pre-K through age 22, offering high-quality services to a diverse student population. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed

  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children in a structured environment
  • Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool preferred, but will train the right candidate
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Report to their assigned school each day.
  • Cover teacher and paraprofessional absences.
  • Perform other supervisory duties as needed.
  • Implement lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher, or consult with the principal if no lesson plan is provided.
  • Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom, and follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the school.
  • Leave notes or complete a report for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day.
  • Communicate in a collegial and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators.
  • Keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Ensure the safety of students at all times.
  • Supervise students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Perform any other relative duties as assigned.
