About The Position

Schneider Electric is looking for a Building Automation Systems Technician in the Morrisville, NC area. This position is typically held by someone who has at least 2 years’ experience in building automation. The individual's experience may be limited as is their exposure to our specific business. This position is responsible for learning how to understand project/ service requirements such as specifications, standards, schedules, and safety. Participates in project/service activities on site related to the coordination, installation, and commissioning of building automation and security management systems.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience servicing electronic and or mechanical systems
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by the leadership
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and team oriented
  • Proficiency with writing code for controller sequence of operations
  • Proficiency with integration protocols (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Technician must be able to work on his/her own and/or with others when needed
  • Be customer-friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable
  • Familiar with Package units, split systems, RTU’s, and mini splits
  • Familiar with electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
  • Familiar with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues
  • Experience with performing a thorough and accurate HVAC inspection
  • Ability to communicate with the team and with customers
  • Must comply with all safety standards and processes
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in close spaces
