About The Position

HTS Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Building Automation Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, commission, and maintain building automation and energy management systems (BAS and EMS) and HVAC controls. The technician will work with controllers, sensors, related equipment, and control networks serving a range of commercial mechanical systems. HTS Engineering Ltd. is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ representative in North America, with 20 locations in the US and Canada. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Building Automation or BAS technician experience.
• Strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems, including AC and DC wiring, relays, sensors, actuators, and control circuits.
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and sequences of operation.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, control diagrams, and mechanical plans.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Honeywell controls and/or Tridium Niagara is strongly preferred.
• Niagara N4 commissioning and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Trade school, HVAC apprenticeship, controls training, or military technical training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair BAS and EMS systems, controllers, sensors, and associated equipment.
• Commission and optimize HVAC controls serving AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, rooftop units, and other mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, system repairs, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and test network communications using BACnet IP, Modbus, LonWorks, and other control protocols.
