About The Position

As a Building Automation Senior Project Sales Representative, your primary role will be to drive revenue growth through targeted sales activities aimed at both new and existing clients. You will specialize in developing innovative solutions for building automation projects within designated markets. The position requires the ability to manage existing customer relationships, proactively prospect, and pursue new customer relationships and opportunities. This role involves a deep understanding of HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS), analyzing building energy usage, sustainability opportunities, and identifying root causes of inefficiency. You will assess existing building systems to uncover gaps, performance issues, and customer pain points, and recommend solutions. The role also includes developing accurate scopes of work, building detailed project estimates, and creating professional proposals. You will lead consultative solution presentations and drive your pipeline by maintaining a clean and actionable CRM, ensuring a healthy backlog of quotes, and uncovering new opportunities through various channels. Expanding account value through cross-selling and up-selling is also a key responsibility, as is confidently qualifying opportunities and handling objections. Planning and scheduling site visits, meetings, and follow-ups are crucial for maximizing time and results. A customer-first mindset, clear and professional communication, and taking ownership of customer concerns are essential. You will also invest in your growth through training and industry events, maintain reliable attendance, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or related field
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems and components
  • Proven success building B2B customer relationships through discovery, needs assessment, and consultative selling
  • Ability to connect the dots between controls upgrades and real business value — including reduced risk, labor savings, lower liability exposure, and minimized system downtime

  • Turn technical assessments and customer needs into smart, cost-effective project solutions.
  • Build detailed project estimates by evaluating system sizing, quantities, distances, labor, materials, subcontractors, and total project cost.
  • Balance technical performance with customer budgets and ROI expectations to deliver solutions that make business sense.
  • Develop professional proposals using Harris’ standard operating procedures.
  • Lead consultative solution presentations that clearly differentiate Harris from competitors.
  • Drive your pipeline by keeping Harris CRM clean, current, and actionable.
  • Maintain a healthy backlog of quotes to support consistent bookings and sales goal achievement.
  • Proactively uncover new opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and existing customer relationships.
  • Follow up fast and consistently on inbound leads and referrals.
  • Expand account value by cross-selling and up-selling controls, service agreements, and mechanical project work.
