The Building Automation Control Specialist is a part of the Digital Controls Shop within the Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M). This role’s primary expectation is to support the campus’ building automation network infrastructure, Digital Controls Shop managers, and other senior technicians and trades staff. Daily tasks will include high level programming, service, installation, as well as operating the shop technical service phone line. This position requires a high level of building operation knowledge relating to a wide variety of BAS, temperature/humidity controls, utility distribution, HVAC systems and IT and data communications. This position may require working in or around animal facilities on campus. Those working in or around animal facilities are required to complete an annual safety training and personnel medical evaluation form to gain clearance. Some areas have additional requirements for entry, including a TB test with negative results and measles titer test. We will provide training that will address hazards as well as how to safely perform job duties by, for example, following signage and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
