About The Position

The University of Texas at Austin's Facilities Services team is seeking a Building Attendant Leader for night cleaning operations. Requirements

Experience following basic work instructions.
Two years of experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities services.
Experience in a supervisory capacity.
Ability to read and understand work orders, instructions, product labels, product directions, and other written job materials.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Good communication skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Customer service skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out standard forms.
Ability to work according to standardized processes.
Stable work history.
Strong attendance record.
Must have a reliable means of communicating with the department outside of work by phone.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line supervision to custodians in night cleaning operations.
Schedule and coordinate the work of Assistant Building Attendant Leaders and Building Attendant II Teams.
Maintain order and discipline among staff.
Receive and schedule work per client instructions and provide client feedback.
Manage performance through observation and communication of goals and standards.
Ensure employees comply with policies, procedures, work rules, and SOPs.
Prepare administrative documents such as Key Logs, Security Logs, Time Reports, FAMIS, First Reports of Injury, Inspection Reports, Supply Orders, Attendance Records, Training Records, Performance Records, periodic and annual Evaluations, and New Employee Orientations.
Provide timely notice to management on matters of concern.
Ensure services and event setups are delivered per schedule and/or work order.
Conduct inspections of buildings and comply with procedures and standards.
Maintain and submit accurate paperwork.
Conduct and document inspections and corrective action.
Ensure timely reporting, submission, and follow-up of building maintenance and custodial issues.
Provide timely and effective responses to client complaints, including off-shift visits when necessary.
Train employees on cleaning, work procedures, safety, policies, and work rules using classroom and individual methods.
Direct quarterly rotation of, and training for specific BA II/ABAL duties, including Restroom Specialist, Light Duty Specialist, Vacuum Specialist, and Utility Specialist.
Attend and participate in training.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of records.
Conduct employee orientation for new and current employees.
Meet training deadlines.
Promote and follow safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions.
Report and correct unsafe working conditions daily.
Report necessary repairs to the Building Services Supervisor, FCMS, and FAMIS with documentation.
Ensure applicable Preventive Maintenance services and inspections of equipment are conducted per SOP.
Ensure custodial lockers comply with the Authorized Products List.
Coordinate and organize responses and work related to floods and other emergency clean-up operations.
Safely operate custodial equipment and University vehicles.
Comply with mandatory safety and defensive driving training.
Ensure security of all external and internal doors and the arming of alarms.
Ensure adherence to building and room unlocking and locking schedules, requests, and directives.
Ensure proper control and accounting of keys, access cards, and alarm codes.
Notify UTPD of security concerns and issues.
Maintain equipment inventory and conduct quarterly inventories of select equipment.
Provide appropriate security to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
Provide immediate reports of loss or damage to UTPD and management.
Perform emergency cleaning, including removal and cleanup of bloodborne pathogens.
Schedule and staff events.
Hold meetings with staff.
Other related duties as assigned.
