About The Position

Amica Senior Lifestyles operates over 30 senior living residences in British Columbia and Ontario, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care lifestyle options, along with Long Term Care in BC. They combine expert care with premium hospitality and amenities for a personalized senior living experience. The Night Building Attendant ensures the safety of residents overnight, takes care of the community, and prepares the team for the day ahead. This role involves responding to in-house emergency requests, providing assistance to emergency personnel if required, and monitoring the building for safety and security. The attendant also serves as a welcome and communication ambassador, greeting residents, visitors, and the public in a friendly and professional manner. Responsibilities include cleaning the lobby area and administrative offices, garbage and recycling disposal, vacuuming, and maintaining the cleanliness of office areas, bathrooms, lounges, dining room, elevators, fixtures, and windows. Other housekeeping duties may also be required.

Requirements

High school education - Grade 10 minimum, prefer Grade 12.
Basic Computer knowledge (Microsoft word, email etc.).
Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
Demonstrated ability to carry out significant amounts of lifting, bending, stopping and stretching.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated effective problem solving skills required.
Detail oriented, with good organizational abilities.
Demonstrated ability to organize work load and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.
Demonstrates a consistent well groomed appearance and hygiene at all times.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a hospitality and/or seniors’ environment is preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate are desirable.
Experience in daily cleaning/laundry duties an asset.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of residents overnight.
Take care of the community and prepare the team for the day ahead.
Respond to in-house emergency requests/needs in a timely manner.
Provide assistance to emergency personnel if required.
Monitor the building to ensure it is safe and secure at all times.
Greet residents, visitors, and members of the public in a friendly and professional manner.
Clean the lobby area and administrative offices.
Perform garbage pickup and disposal, and recycling.
Vacuum and perform other duties as required in cleaning.
Ensure the cleanliness of office areas, bathrooms, lounges, dining room, elevators, any fixtures, and windows, as assigned.
Perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
