Responsibilities
Assists in the supervision of students in the classroom and other areas of the school facility, including bus arrival/dismissal, lunch and/or recess, school related activities/field trips, and emergency drills/situations.
Assists staff in preparation of materials, including reproducing and preparing materials and equipment, correcting papers, workbooks, and tests, and creating and preparing materials for bulletin boards.
Works with group or individual students in the daily routine of the classroom under the teacher’s direction, including assisting with classroom management and/or implementation of behavioral management plans, assisting students with homework, tests, and/or seat work, and assisting students with technology.
Maintains records for individual students.
Reports relevant matters to the building administrator(s) or designee and keeps teacher(s) informed of all relevant student-related matters.
Assists the office staff when needed, including recording attendance and lunch count for kindergarten classes and reporting information to the office.
Assists in the integration of special education students in the regular classroom.
Assists any student as need arises or as requested.
Provides relevant/requested information for development and implementation of IEP’s for individual students.
Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology.
Maintains appropriate health and safety standards.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
