About The Position

The Building and Grounds Worker will be responsible for monitoring the overall condition of the Marina. He/She will have to be diverse enough to handle from the smallest cleaning jobs to identifying conditions that could lend to a large emergency. It will be his/her job to coordinate with the Buildings Supervisor to identify and facilitate repairs, and to keep the Marina buildings and grounds clean.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing repairs required
• Heavy lifting required
• Working in high places sometimes required
• Knowledge of painting preparation and painting
• Ability to safely use power tools required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cleanliness of the entire facility.
• Major priority areas to be kept clean are: Restrooms, public and staff; Laundry room; Showers; Office, Ship's Store and other building areas used by public & employees; Trash receptacles are emptied before they are full; Litter pick-up from docks, water surface, parking lots, roads and other.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Harbormaster, for example: Haul out—wash boat bottoms and assist with shrink wrap; Launch — remove shrink wrap and put up canvas; Snow removal.
