Build For Growth Electrical Engineer I
About The Position
Perform and coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards, including equipment changes due to plant procedure changes. The Electrical Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Amrize Build4Growth Program. This is an extensive, 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants. This program is built on a blended learning approach including online learning, face-to-face sessions, on-the-job assignments, and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Entry level (0-3 years)
- Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering
- Required Technical Skills: SAP, Autocad, Project and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems is preferred (CTI, PLC-5 and SLC 500).
- Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFD’s, communication
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
Responsibilities
- Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Will be responsible for programming including CTI PLCs, Ifix HMI, Kiln High Level Control, Mill High Level Control.
- Will be responsible for network maintenance and IT internal support for servers, switches, virtual programming.
- Will be managing projects both electrical and mechanical.
- Will be responsible for the predictive/preventative electrical maintenance program.
- Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.
- Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.
- Interface with contractors utilized in project work, including solicitation of quotes, selection and field direction.
- Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
- Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies on proposed electrical modifications and additions.
- Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.
- Maintain, organize, prepare, review and revise drawings as required.
- Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
- Research/recommend new PM procedures based on newly developed technologies.
- Use SAP to purchase parts and services, review work orders, analyse reports and manage capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
