About The Position

Oaklawn is seeking a talented individual to become a Bugler Host. This role involves greeting guests, managing table rotation, seating guests with necessary amenities, and promoting monthly specials and daily deals to ensure an enjoyable guest experience. The Bugler Host may also act as a cashier and must always present a friendly and professional image. This position requires excellent guest service and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with team members and guests, and a commitment to upholding a Four Diamond & Four-Star service model. The role also involves maintaining a positive attitude consistent with company core values and standards, regular punctual attendance, and the ability to work required overtime.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests, monitors server table seating rotation, seats guests with menus, silverware, drinks and special seating accommodations.
  • Understands and promotes monthly promotions and daily specials.
  • May act as cashier.
  • Presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.
  • Provides excellent internal and external guest services, treating internal and external guests with courtesy and consideration at all times.
  • Cooperates and communicates with all fellow team members, exhibiting mutual respect and projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.
  • Keeps informed of company information and communications.
  • Effectively communicates concerns and information to supervisor and listens to communication from supervisor.
  • Relates ideas for improvements to supervisor and management.
  • Observes and reports any and all unsafe behavior displayed by internal and external guests.
  • Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of promotions and specials.
  • Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction and strives to exceed guests' expectations.
  • Takes names on waiting list, monitors restaurant server seating rotation/floor board plan.
  • Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
  • Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately.
  • Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.
  • Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
  • Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
  • Ensures waiting and foyer areas are kept clean.
  • Acts as cashier as needed or assigned.
  • May be assigned to various venues throughout the property depending on business needs.
  • Assists other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department.
  • Upholds a Four Diamond & Four-Star service model.
  • Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests.
  • Regular punctual attendance.
  • Ability to work required overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.
