About The Position

The Budtender greets and welcomes patients, helps them select products, follows company policies and procedures, and provides a positive patient experience. The role involves recommending cannabis products based on patients’ needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains; educating patients about safe use; processing payments; and supporting the dispensary’s daily operations. Budtenders also maintain product inventory and store organization, complete assigned opening and closing tasks, verify patient identification and credentials, and follow company and state compliance requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to pass a background check and receive a facility agent card from the state.
Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
Strong organizational skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work well with other team members.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the retail space.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

Proven experience working as a Budtender is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide patients with a positive experience.
Advise patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains.
Stay informed about new cannabis products and industry trends.
Process patient payments using the dispensary’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
Keep the store clean and well-organized.
Educate patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
Weigh, package, and label cannabis products as required.
Verify patients’ identification, legal age, and required credentials to enter the dispensary and purchase products.
Take inventory of cannabis products and ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked.
Complete assigned opening and closing tasks.
Maintain compliance with company and state policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
