About The Position

Battelle is seeking a Budget and Financial Management Specialist for a full-time opportunity in the greater Washington, DC area. This role supports the Infrastructure Safety and Security (ISS) business, specifically a high-profile program for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The program involves a full spectrum of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) support. The specialist will provide acquisition-focused financial management support to DHS, assisting with Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with federal laws, regulations, and DHS policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in budget and financial management
  • DHS T&E Level 1, DAWIA T&E Foundational Level 1, and/or CTEP (Certified Test and Evaluation Professional) certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability.

Responsibilities

  • Providing acquisition-focused financial management support to ensure DHS program cost, schedule, and performance goals are achieved and acquisition requirements are met
  • Supporting Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with federal laws, regulations, and DHS policies
  • Acting as a liaison between DHS components, U.S. government entities, and private organizations on financial and acquisition matters
  • Providing limited procurement support, including market research and inputs for justifications, determinations, and findings
  • Assisting with contract closeout activities
