About The Position

Under general supervision of the Manager, University Budget, the incumbent performs a variety of budget-related assignments supporting the University Budget office. The role involves maintaining budget information using integrated financial systems and/or other record management systems, compiling financial information, preparing financial projections, and generating resource reports by creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases. The incumbent will compute and post financial transactions, perform financial analysis, monitor and reconcile fund/account balances, prepare fund allocations, provide technical budget assistance to the campus community, identify process issues, and provide input on system and process improvements. The role also includes assisting with the implementation and evaluation of new or revised processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or additional experience demonstrating acquired knowledge and abilities may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a concentration in finance or accounting
  • Advance use and experience with MS Excel creating complex spreadsheets for large data sets
  • Experience with the creation of ad hoc data queries and analysis
  • Experience delivering financial presentations and training
