About The Position

The UCF College of Business seeks a skilled Budget Analyst II to join its Finance and Budget Center team. This role provides essential planning, analysis, and financial management support, including daily transaction oversight, post-award grant assistance, and scholarship processing. The Budget Analyst II will partner with college leadership, department chairs, and cross-functional teams to ensure fiscal accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H‑1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, preferably within a higher education, sponsored research, or grants management environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, including the ability to develop and manage complex financial models, pivot tables, formulas, and data lookup functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in account reconciliation and financial data analysis, with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
  • Experience with financial systems in Workday, including payroll costing allocations, effort certification, and/or post-award grant management; experience with Huron or similar research administration platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UCF travel and procurement policies, procedures, and processes, or comparable institutional financial compliance experience within a Florida public university or state agency.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to identify financial discrepancies, problem-solve independently, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to multiple audiences including faculty, department chairs, and administrative staff.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for the Finance Director and department chairs.
  • Review, approve, deny, or return expense reports and other daily transactions for assigned cost centers and provide correction guidance.
  • Prepare Accounting Adjustments and Payroll Accounting Adjustments as needed.
  • Process payroll costing allocations as instructed by the Finance Director or Budget Manager.
  • Work with the Financial Aid Office and department scholarship committee chairs to prepare and process scholarship journals and address questions and concerns.
  • Coordinate with HRBC on the budgeting, monitoring, processing, and approving of graduate assistantships and related OPS PAP actions in Workday.
  • Perform pre-reviews and manage ECC effort certification for the college.
  • Assist the Finance Director with post-award/grant management in Workday and Huron.
  • Assist the Budget Manager with various tasks as needed.
  • Work closely with the FBC team to disseminate accounting information and ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned to accomplish the overall mission of the College.
