About The Position

This role involves advanced and professional collection, development, and evaluation of data to develop/implement/administer County Budget.

Requirements

• Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and the procedures of budget preparation.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and organization.
• Knowledge of the legislative process at the State level and its interrelationship with County government.
• Ability to organize and present clear and concise oral and written reports.
• Ability to isolate and analyze significant trends and practices from detailed records and factual material.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by working assignments and duties.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or supervise subordinates as assigned.
• Knowledge of budgeting software.
• Knowledge of basic accounting.
• Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
• Graduation from a accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, and two (2) years' of related experience.
• EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH PERSONAL COMPUTERS, SPREADSHEETS AND DATABASE SOFTWARE.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Public Administration (MPA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares reports, correspondence, and other communications.
• Researches various contracts.
• Develops long-range plans.
• Researches various laws.
• Evaluates departmental operations.
• Performs related work as required.
