About The Position

This role will disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble, and test-run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift start up. The primary responsibilities include washing meat buckets, sticks, automatic linking systems, pallets, and miscellaneous small parts daily. The role also involves operating garbage and cardboard compactors, ensuring the Formulation area is adequately supplied with clean buckets, and the Stuffing area is adequately supplied with clean sticks. Occasional checks of formulation and compactor areas are required to prevent accumulation of garbage and cardboard. Weekly duties include washing plastic barrels, sweeping outside areas, and minor welfare upkeep. A key aspect of this role is taking responsibility for producing a safe and quality food product and reporting all food safety and quality-related problems to the supervisor, manager, or QA department to initiate action.

Requirements

  • Less than a high school diploma; no prior experience or training necessary; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiple and divide with tens and hundreds.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
