About The Position

Atlantic Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented BSA / Compliance Specialist to support key elements of its BSA and OFAC programs. The role focuses on applying regulatory requirements to day-to-day operations and ensuring accurate, consistent reporting and recordkeeping. The specialist will manage CTR filings, review negotiable instrument activity, resolve sanctions alerts, and respond to regulatory requests. The position collaborates across teams to strengthen processes, provide guidance, and support a culture of compliance. Requirements

2–5 years of related experience in BSA, AML, compliance, audit, or a similar regulatory role.
A two-year college degree, specialized business or compliance coursework, or equivalent professional training or experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and discretion.
Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and tact.
Proficiency with MS Office and core processing systems.
Ability to adapt to a changing regulatory environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AML software; Verafin is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support compliance functions including CTR reporting, negotiable instrument recordkeeping, sanctions screening, and regulatory searches.
Review OFAC and 314(a) sanctions alerts to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
Maintain accurate documentation for compliance activities, audits, and examinations.
Contribute to updates of procedures, training, and internal processes.
Stay current on regulatory updates and help translate requirements into practical guidance.
Answer staff questions and provide direction on compliance requirements.
Support Compliance and Audit initiatives, including ongoing program support.
