About The Position

HAPO Community Credit Union is seeking a BSA Compliance Specialist in Kennewick, WA. The primary focus of this role is to support the Compliance Manager in maintaining the credit union’s BSA/AML compliance program and ensuring adherence to all BSA/AML/CFT compliance requirements. The specialist will assist in monitoring and maintaining an effective Compliance Management Program to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements. Ideal candidates will be adept at handling stressful situations, possess strong organizational skills, and communicate effectively. Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • One year of similar or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and related regulations.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the BSA / AML/CFT software and its functions related to credit union compliance.
  • Attend regulatory training, seminars, and conferences, and read periodicals to stay current on money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, criminal activities, and developing trends.
  • Maintain member and employee confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential and sharing only on a business-related basis.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.
  • Utilize proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook, as well as other software systems used by the Compliance Department.
  • Perform mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals with American currency, and apply these concepts to practical solutions.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions while dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
