About The Position

The BSA Analyst I will assist in administering the Bank's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. This position will assist in performing diverse and complex analysis of customer data and reviews to ensure the integrity of that information. The BSA Analyst I primary duties will be to monitor, review and process BSA software, execute OFAC list searches, perform and monitor Customer Due Diligence compliance processes, and perform functions related to the cannabis banking program. These duties above will overlap to include, testing and monitoring in the areas of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and, using the Core System and the BSA/AML software. The BSA Analyst I will also assist other team members with various employee trainings, customer investigations, risk assessments and AML type audits.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2 years' experience in related field.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Exceptional writing, grammar and usage skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
  • Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
  • Knowledge of BankWest products and services.
  • Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.
  • Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
  • BankWest is a "Sales Organization" and all employees are expected to participate directly or indirectly with increasing BankWest's presence in their markets as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer and account level research on a wide variety of data in an effort to identify suspicious and/or illegal activity and report findings and/or make recommendations to department leadership based on that research.
  • Maintain files, records, and documentation as it relates to the customer review compliance function.
  • Utilize a variety of analytical techniques and computer systems to make informed decisions concerning customer account status.
  • Evaluate information and sources for accuracy, reliability, and relevance in assessing existing and potential customers for BSA/AML risk.
  • Process reports, work with software applications and other research tools, and perform research and analysis on a daily basis.
  • Effectively and with dependable writing skills, assist with drafting regulatory reports required under BSA for supervisor review.
  • Coordinate work with other team members performing similar activities.
  • Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
  • Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
  • Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.
  • Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
  • Community involvement is strongly encouraged.
