About The Position

The BSA Analyst is responsible for supporting the Credit Union's BSA/AML, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act compliance program by monitoring transactions, investigating potentially suspicious activity, conducting CDD and EDD reviews, reviewing OFAC alerts, and assisting with required regulatory reporting. This position applies strong analytical, research, and investigative skills to identify and mitigate financial crime risks, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and strengthen the Credit Union's overall BSA/AML controls and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act, CIP, CDD, EDD, SARs, and CTRs required

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, criminal justice, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, fraud monitoring, investigations, or financial institution operations preferred
  • Understanding of Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements
  • Experience with Verafin or a similar BSA/AML monitoring system preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative

Responsibilities

  • Perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and USA PATRIOT Act functions in accordance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Independently perform and oversee complex transaction monitoring, conduct in-depth investigations of suspicious activity, and ensure timely and accurate filing of required regulatory reports, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
  • Perform OFAC monitoring by reviewing alerts, analyzing potential matches, and clearing false positives in accordance with established procedures and escalation requirements.
  • Complete FinCEN 314(a) reviews and support lawful law enforcement requests through appropriate searches, documentation, and escalation of findings.
