About The Position

The BSA/AML Supervisor accomplishes results through the effective management of a team of BSA/AML Analysts. The BSA/AML Supervisor is responsible for monitoring compliance with state and federal Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT ACT, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of when identified issues need to be escalated to senior management.
  • Strong ability to tactfully work with co-workers and collaborate with other areas across the bank.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong in research and problem resolution.
  • Strong understanding of banking related regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Strong ability to analyze banking activities and characteristics to assess potential risk.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Supervisor Training required, or within six months of hire
  • BSA/AML Certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Pursues required training and professional certifications upon hire.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver’s License required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years as a BSA Analyst, lead worker or supervisor in a financial institution is required.
  • Expert knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes and delivers scheduled Reviews and Evaluations in a timely manner; approves payroll; monitors and approves time off requests and ensures adequate scheduling for coverage.
  • Responsible for developing individual training programs for the BSA staff members.
  • Responsible for scheduling departmental activities and workload and coordinating with Department Manager(s) ensuring that operational schedules are met.
  • Works closely with staff to develop the team, mentor, provide feedback and coaching.
  • Is active in department functions, helps with projects, as needed.
  • Collaborates with staff on procedures, monitors adherence to guidelines, and updates as needed.
  • If technique or procedure doesn’t seem to be working efficiently, makes suggestions towards a solution.
  • Keeps informed of new or changing regulatory requirements which would affect operations.
  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring, reporting, and control processes within the BSA/AML department.
  • Performs quality control over monitoring procedures and regulatory reporting.
  • Assists BSA/AML Officer with developing, monitoring, and model governance of the BSA/AML software.
  • Leads the preparation of documents for audits and examinations.
  • Serves as a point of contact for all BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC related matters.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations and directs the activities of the BSA/AML Analysts team.
  • Coordinates and oversees all aspects of talent management, including hiring, performance reviews, recognition, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Assists in salary adjustments, promotions, and terminations.
  • Directly responsible for training staff members.
