About The Position

Serve as the Credit Union’s primary reference point for compliance information, questions, issues, and reporting. This role requires the individual to be a subject matter expert for the Credit Union on all compliance-related issues, with a focus on BSA/AML and Vendor Management.

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in financial institutions
  • Experience in regulatory compliance
  • Thorough knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Strong technical research and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills
  • Ability to successfully communicate and build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and concisely in written and verbal form
  • Strong PC Skills, including Microsoft Office suite (with particular emphasis on Excel, Word, and Power Point).
  • A personal smartphone with the capability of uploading the latest operating versions of IOS or Android, is required

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • Experience with Symitar a plus.
  • Experience with Verafin a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily alerts and reports for suspicious financial activity or unusual customer behavior.
  • Conduct thorough investigations by analyzing account histories, transaction patterns, and supporting documents.
  • Draft and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) accurately and on time.
  • Assess customer risk ratings and recommend account retention, restriction, or closure when necessary.
  • Stay current with federal banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and internal company policies.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, due diligence, ongoing performance monitoring, and exit planning.
  • Coordinate with IT, legal, finance, and security departments to maintain proper governance.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintain centralized inventories or dashboards tracking vendor performance.
  • Responsible for documenting procedures within the line of business.
  • Must comply with applicable policies, laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
