About The Position

The Brokerage Agent executes flawless operational performance, productivity, technical expertise, and excellent customer service, constantly driving efficiency to support our Vision and Mission Statement and making our promise real to all our customers. This role involves proactive monitoring of key metrics to achieve expected results in employee satisfaction and operational efficiency, ensuring timely execution of tasks and maintaining a high level of trade compliance. The agent will also exemplify and teach the company culture, mission, and goals, while maintaining healthy cross-functional relationships and owning self-development through personal development plans. Customer service is paramount, requiring courteous and professional communication, timely notification of delays, and prompt, accurate responses to all requests. The role also emphasizes operations and compliance, including understanding and following Border Brokerage Operational Process Standards, maintaining high compliance levels on Customs entries, and ensuring customer expectations are met and documented. The agent must also be proficient in using Expeditors systems and tools, reporting any issues or opportunities for automation, and participating in meetings. Security, Health, and Safety are critical, requiring immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions. Financial compliance, including timely billing and preventing monetary losses, is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Execute flawless operational performance, productivity, technical expertise, and excellent customer service.
  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results in employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of all mandatory trainings, including New Hire trainings, boot camp, CICS, Billing Certification, and DG imports certification.
  • Take ownership of employee development, participating actively in scheduled 1:1’s and EPE’s.
  • Perform consistently at the highest level according to District Excellence expectation and standards (OPS).
  • Ensure timely execution and data entry for various operational steps (e.g., DXR to LOG, LOG to ENF, LOG to ESP, INV, ENF to ESP, UCE to AME, AUE, ADD CVD, AUE to AUA, EDE to EDA).
  • Maintain 100% trade compliance.
  • Ensure timely completion of CENSUS actions and monitor In-bond transactions.
  • Proactively communicate with carriers and interested parties.
  • Exemplify and teach company culture, mission, and goals.
  • Follow Code of Business Conduct, 10 Critical Success Factors, and all company and local policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Understand, monitor, and ensure consistency in quantitative and qualitative performance.
  • Contribute to building healthy cross-functional relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Proactively communicate with Team Lead, Supervisor, and Management about training, support, or tools needed, and escalate issues.
  • Prepare, follow-up, and execute personal development plans and goals.

  • Maintain highest compliance level on Customs entries, In-bonds, and FTZ admissions.
  • Ensure customer expectations are complied with and documented on Customer SOPs.
  • Participate in product trainings and stay current with regulations.
  • Log files correctly and timely with proper codes, trace types, and events, avoiding post summary corrections.
  • Address all exceptions and shipment holds timely.
  • Escalate inconsistencies or concerns with customer instructions and regulations.
  • Properly use all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Immediately report any tools or systems failures and escalate as needed.
  • Proactively report opportunities for automation.
  • Participate in team, department, and branch meetings.
  • Ensure all emails are handled timely and professionally.
  • Ensure customer legal documents are updated prior to entry processing.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness and comply with District Excellence metrics.
  • Escalate issues to Lead, Supervisor, or Management as needed.
  • Immediately report any unsafe condition or incident.
  • Comply with all company policies, including the credit policy.
  • Timely and correctly bill all processed entries.
  • Understand all accounting processes and reports and their impact.
  • Monitor and constantly work on preventing monetary losses.
